Casablanca: the Moroccan Sandwicherie in Haebangchon

In the ghetto of Haebangchon is a Moroccan sandwicherie called Casablanca owned and run by a chef named Wahid who comes from Morocco. He opened up this place just prior to Christmas and he is killing it with his fabulous food with a price point of four bucks and five bucks. Sides, the Moroccan salad, spicy carrot salad, and lentil soup clock in at two bucks. Chef Wahid has three sandwiches at four bucks: vegetarian, Berber omelette, and Moroccan chicken. At five bucks he has the lamb chili sandwich and my usual fare, the Spicy Shrimp Sandwich. Wahid speaks Japanese (among the other languages of Berber, French, Arabic, English, and Korean) so I usually order by saying "Spicy Ebi Sando onegaishimasu!"

I am always a fan of honest food, by that I mean food that has a limited amount of ingredients none of them being chemicals like preservatives. Most honest food has a list of ingredients numbering less than ten and that includes salt and pepper. Great food here by a culinary school-trained chef. If you ever come to Haebangchon and you want a couple of sandwiches, you definitely need to stop here.
Wahid is there in the center.
